Who we are
MardenDigital is a digital marketing business run by Marden Evans, based in Wales, UK. This policy explains what personal data is collected through this site, why, and what your rights are.
Contact: [email protected]
What data we collect
Through the website: name, email, phone number, and business name when you fill in the Book a Call form or contact form, along with anything you tell us about your project (what you need help with, current website/socials, etc). We also collect basic analytics data (pages visited, how you found the site) if you’ve consented to analytics cookies, see the Cookie Policy for detail.
Through working together, if you become a client: contact details, business details, and billing information needed to deliver the work and invoice you. Content, images, and access details you provide for your website, social media, or SEO work. Communication records (emails, messages) relating to the project.
Why we collect it
To respond to enquiries and give you a quote. To deliver the service you’ve paid for (website build, SEO, social media management, maintenance). To invoice you and keep basic financial records, a legal requirement under HMRC rules. To understand how the MardenDigital site is used, so it can be improved, only with cookie consent.
We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share it with anyone beyond what’s needed to do the work above, for example a hosting provider storing your website, or an accounting tool used to generate invoices.
Legal basis for processing
Under UK GDPR, the reasons above fall under contract (processing needed to deliver a service you’ve asked for or agreed to pay for), legitimate interest (replying to enquiries, basic site analytics, keeping business records tidy), and legal obligation (financial records for HMRC, kept for 6 years, standard requirement).
How long we keep it
Enquiry form submissions that don’t turn into client work are deleted after 12 months. Client project files and communications are kept for the duration of the working relationship plus 2 years after, in case questions come up. Invoices and financial records are kept for 6 years, as required by HMRC. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics’ own default settings (currently 14 months), not extended by us.
Where your data is stored
Website form submissions and client files are stored using standard UK/EU-based tools, for example hosting providers, Google Workspace, and project tools. We don’t use data centres or storage outside the UK/EU without appropriate safeguards.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see what data we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, have your data deleted (subject to what we’re legally required to keep, like invoices), or object to how your data is used, or withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time.
To do any of this, email [email protected] We’ll respond within 30 days.
If you’re not happy with how a request is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
See the separate Cookie Policy for full detail on what’s used and how to manage your preferences.
