Website Design Overview
Coach & Horses is a historic and well established pub based in Abergavenny, known for its character, community atmosphere, and regular events. They approached me to design their first website, giving the pub a dedicated online presence for the first time.
The goal of the website was to clearly showcase their core offerings while providing customers with relevant and up to date information such as opening times, upcoming events, live music, and festivals. It was important that the site reflected the authenticity of the pub while remaining clear, modern, and easy to navigate for both locals and visitors.
Alongside the main website, I also built an online shop to sell Coach & Horses merchandise. This included a mailing list sign-up and collaborations with local businesses such as Tough Love Tattoo Parlour and Viveutvivas, giving the pub a new way to connect with customers and promote their brand beyond the physical venue.

Website Design Challenges
A&J Future Fitness were working with an outdated website and hosting setup that limited what they could do online. The site’s structure was unclear, images were low quality, and the platform itself was years out of date — making a complete rebuild the best option.
Because their existing content was minimal, I needed to create new copy that not only reflected their brand but also helped them compete on Google. Competitor sites were packed with information, so I focused on writing content that was clear, relevant, and SEO-friendly.
Their main goals were to look more professional, ensure the website worked seamlessly on mobile devices, and improve their search rankings. Having recently introduced 24-hour access, it was also important to communicate this clearly to potential members and make key details — like memberships, pricing, and opening hours — easy to find.
The Result
The new website gave A&J Future Fitness a professional, modern online presence that truly reflects the quality of their gym. Built on a faster, more reliable hosting platform, the site now performs smoothly, loads quickly, and looks great on any device.
With clearer structure, fresh content, and strong on-page SEO, the site began ranking higher on Google for key local fitness searches. Their 24-hour access is now front and centre, helping them stand out from competitors and attract new members.
Since the launch, A&J Future Fitness has seen an increase in new memberships, with several customers mentioning they discovered the gym through the new website. Alongside ongoing social media ad campaigns, the site continues to generate consistent enquiries and drive measurable growth for the business.
